Position title: Sales Engineer

Location: Randburg, Gauteng

 

Our Johannesburg branch is seeking an experienced and target driven Sales Engineer to manage the national and international sales function focusing on key account customers and certain industry sectors.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for servicing and managing the national sales function including customer relationships focusing on key account customers and certain industry sectors
  • Support the strategic alignment with key account customers and analyze key accounts performance
  • Continuously develop strategies in order to build and maintain key account customer relationships and promote continued business and increase client satisfaction
  • Build and sustain long term strategic relationships with key account customers in order to identify opportunities
  • Identify and develop new customers, servicing existing key accounts and generating new leads
  • Promotional planning, budget allocation and execution according to sales plan
  • Preparations of costings, rate proposals and Service Level Agreements
  • Ensure that key account customers SLAs are met
  • Travel to key account customer sites, attend conferences, seminars, participate in workshops
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining the products to clients and prospective clients
  • Explain the technical details of our products and identify system design solutions to key account customers
  • Working closely with the Product Sales team and Engineering team to meet customer requirements
  • Stay abreast on industry news, market trends, competitor activities, emerging technologies and latest product line developments
  • Generate feedback on all visits, including pointing out issues and highlighting opportunities

 

Minimum requirements:

  • NQF level 7 or equivalent qualification – Technical or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Solid Technical and Engineering background
  • Previous experience in Sales and Business Development
  • At least 5 years’ experience and exposure in the automation industry
  • Financial background – understanding budgets, forecasting and margins
